Following his folks’ separation, 12-year-old Evan Goldman (Eli Golden) removes from New York City with his mom Jessica (Debra Messing). With his Bar Mitzvah quick drawing nearer, Evan is crushed that he should leave every one of his companions, his dad (Peter Hermann) and his rabbi (Josh Peck) behind. However, after showing up at his grandma’s (Rhea Perlman) house in modest community Walkerton, Indiana, he devises a strategy to make new companions by transforming his Bar Mitzvah into the coolest party of all time. As an untouchable exploring the convoluted groups of friends of his new school, Evan rapidly figures out he’s not by any means the only one wrestling with the intimately acquainted tensions of eighth grade.
